We are looking for documentaries that pursue unique visions to everyday problems, productions that present strong outlooks from his or her director, and works that push for new narrative structures.

Quito.- This is a non competitive documentary showcase, organized by Fundacion Octaedro, a non-for-profit organization based in Quito-Ecuador whose main objective is the enhancement of the arts and sciences in our country.
   DOCUMENTA'S main goals are to bring the work of documentary filmmakers from around the world together with our city's audience, as well as open a space for permanent audiovisual exchange.
   DOCUMENTA will take place in September 2008 in Quito. All projection will take place in our 60-people auditorium.

Selection Criteria:

1. All documentaries produced from 2005 onwards can participate. There are no limits on subjects and production formats. Participating documentaries could have participated in other festivals as well as could have been released in any format. We are looking for documentaries that pursue unique visions to everyday problems, productions that present strong outlooks from his or her director, and works that push for new narrative structures.

2. We accept documentaries in Spanish or English, productions in other languages should be subtitled in either one. WE DO NOT ACCEPT INSTITUTIONAL DOCUMENTARIES.

3. All chosen productions will be notified in August 2008.

Projection Format:
All documentaries will be shown on DVD (NTSC or PAL)

Categories:
- Short films
- Feature films

Time Limits:
- Short films (30 minutes or less)
- Feature films (50 minutes minimum length)

Entry Fee:
10 US dollars per documentary

Due Date:
You have until July 14th (postmark) to send your entry.

- WE DO NOT ACCEPT MONEY ORDERS OF ANY KIND

Warnings:
- There are no refunds. Any defective video will be automatically disqualified without a refund.
- The festival is not responsible for the wrongful use of the films by the authors or third parties.
- The festival reserves the right to use the films partially or completely in order to promote the event.
- Videos will not be returned under any circumstance.

Print and sign the Entry Form (Word Version) and include it in your registration package with your video; a photo of minimum 300 dpi, maximum 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 inches) in digital format, for promotional purposes; and payment or payment receipt. On the envelope or customs statement you must write NO COMMERCIAL VALUE - FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY.
